James Christiansen: James is a global leader in information security, and has held senior positions for some of the world’s largest companies. As the first information security officer at Visa, he created and implemented Visa’s worldwide information security program. As the first CISO for General Motors, he was responsible for the worldwide operations of information security for all business units. Prior to joining Evantix, James was chief information security officer (CISO) for Experian Solutions. He had overall responsibility for information security, and he defined the vision and set the strategic direction across Experian business units to provide state-of-the-art practices and guidance for the corporation. James joined Experian after serving as CISO for General Motors where his responsibilities included implementing a worldwide comprehensive security plan for the largest financial (GMAC) and the largest manufacturing corporation in the world. Prior to joining GM, James applied his security experience to Visa International, where he held the position of senior vice president and division head of information security. Under his direction, Visa developed the risk-assessment framework that grew into the current PCI/DSS program. John B. Jackson: John Bradley Jackson is Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at California State University Fullerton. At CSUF Jackson is a Lecturer on Entrepreneurial Marketing, New Venture Creation, and New Venture Launch. Known affectionately as "Professor JJ", Jackson brings practical marketing and sales knowledge to the classroom from both Silicon Valley and Wall Street. As an entrepreneur, Jackson founded The BirdDog Group, a marketing and sales consulting firm that specializes in helping small and medium sized businesses with marketing and sales strategy. In particular, he is an expert in web-based marketing including web development and search engine optimization. In February 2007 Jackson wrote the book "First, Best, or Different: What Every Entrepreneur Needs to Know About Niche Marketing;" the book demystified the sometimes overly complex art of niche marketing and has received rave reviews for its easy-to-read style and common sense approach. His second book is called "Déjà New Marketing" and is due to be published in late 2009. Michael Jenkins: Mr. Jenkins currently serves as City Attorney for the cities of Diamond Bar, Hermosa Beach, Rolling Hills and West Hollywood, as General Counsel to the Los Angeles County West Vector Control District and the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District, as General Counsel to the South Bay Cities Council of Governments, and as special counsel for numerous municipalities around the State, including Torrance, Oceanside, Fresno and Palo Alto. Mr. Jenkins has previously served as city attorney for the cities of Avalon, Hidden Hills, La Habra Heights, Malibu, Solvang and Westlake Village. In the course of his career, Mr. Jenkins has developed expertise in many facets of public law, including municipal incorporation, constitutional law, land use regulation, public works construction, open meetings law, elections law and municipal litigation. Mr. Jenkins has been responsible for the legal affairs of a diverse array of Southern California municipalities. Mr. Jenkins’ statewide stature in the field of municipal law is evidenced by his service as President of the City Attorneys Department of the League of California Cities (1993), his leadership in co-authoring the original version of the League’s Municipal Law Handbook and chairing the League’s Brown Act Committee, in which capacity he negotiated on behalf of California cities major changes to the State’s open meeting laws, which took effect in 1994 The meeting topic will be the use of social media in local government.
